Successful Navy Band performances are contingent on the sponsor's adherence to specific logistical guidelines set forth for each performing unit.
Military band performances must also meet the following criteria:
- All performances must be "free and open to the public."
- Recording or filming of shows for commercial (resale) purposes is prohibited.
- Performances in support of fundraising events are prohibited.
- Performances that give the appearance of U.S. Navy endorsement of commercial establishments, religious causes, products, or political causes are strictly prohibited.
