If you have old photos of aircraft, people, events, that took place on board Naval Air Station Jacksonville from 1940 to the present, we'd like to see them. These photos must be releasable, not copyrighted, and we'll need information about the aircraft, people, or event. If you took the photo, please let us know and we'll give you a photo credit on our web site. All photos must be provided free of charge (we can not pay for photographs) but you will maintain ownership of the photo and can use the photo anywhere else you wish.
Our web site is building an extensive historical photo gallery that will be the focal point for anyone interested in naval aviation history and the history of the air station. Our goal is to illustrate photographically all the aircraft that have ever flown from Naval Air Station Jacksonville, the people who flew and worked on the aircraft, and the changes in the appearance of the base in the past 60 years. Our historical pages are for aviation enthusiasts, researchers, and the general public who want to learn more about naval aviation history. We are fortunate to already possess an extensive photographic library and seek to add to that library with your submissions.
If you want to submit photos electronically, please send them as a JPEG e-mail attachment to our base firstname.lastname@example.org. Photos should be 5"x 7" with a minimum 300 dpi resolution and an 8:1 JPEG compression ratio.
If you would like to send photographs by mail, please forward them to the below address. We'll scan your photograph and return it to you. Please take extra care with "one-of-a-kind" photographs by having them in hard, clear plastic covers; this allows us to scan the photo without having to handle it.
