The NAS Jacksonville Public Works Department earned the Secretary of the Navy 2010 Gold Level of Achievement Award for the station in recognition of significant achievements in energy and water management, awareness and conservation.
During 2010, Public Works increased their electric/energy efficient vehicle fleet from 44 to 60, the largest in the southeast region. They continue to develop strategies for achieving energy reduction and renewable energy goals. NAS Jacksonville has the largest building energy monitoring program in the southeast region.
Public Works is also responsible for initiating the design and construction of new building projects, emergency and repair maintenance.
