LT Joshua A. Yunos is a native of Wichita, Kansas. He is a graduate of Southwestern College in Winfield, KS with his Bachelors of Science Degree in Business Quality Management and is a graduate of Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas with his Masters of Business Administration Degree with concentration in Human Resource Management.   
In March 2000, Lieutenant Yunos attended Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Illinois, followed by the competition of Yeoman “A” School in Meridian, Mississippi. His sea assignments include tours with USS CARL VINSON (CVN 70) and USS DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER (CVN 69), completing three combat deployments to the Persian Gulf, Western Pacific, and Arabian Gulf in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM & the Global War on Terrorism. Shore duty assignments include joint tours with Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe in Mons, Belgium and Flag Writer for the Commander, United Nations Command/Combined Forces Command/United States Forces Korea in Seoul, Korea. Tour highlights include achieving his Enlisted Surface Warfare and Aviation Warfare designations, selection as the Sailor of the Year for 2005, attending Yeoman “C” School Flag Writer Course in Meridian, Mississippi (graduating as class honor graduate with the highest GPA in course history), and achieving the rank of Chief Petty Officer in September 2007.   

In February 2009, he was selected for commissioning under the Limited Duty Officer Program and was commissioned to Ensign in January 2010. He completed sea/shore duty assignments as Administrative Officer/Department Head with Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron TWO EIGHT (HSC-28) in Norfolk, VA and Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron SEVEN in Tinker AFB, Oklahoma. Tour highlights include his selection as the 2012 HSC-28 Junior Officer of the Year and the 2012 Hampton Roads Leadership Award for Junior Officers.
 In August 2016, he reported to his current assignment as the Executive Officer of Transient Personnel Unit/Pre-trial Confinement Facility, Jacksonville, Florida.
 Lieutenant Yunos’s personal awards include two Defense Meritorious Service Medals, a Joint Service Commendation Medal, two Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals, and two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals as well as numerous unit/campaign awards.
