COVID FRAGO Restrictions

MEDICAL INFORMATION

The Naval Branch Health Clinic at NAS JRB Fort Worth is still open by appointment only for their regular patrons (active duty service members) at this time. They are minimizing the number of in-person appointments to help avoid spreading in the clinic and are increasing their virtual doctor appointments. Please follow this link for a brief from our local health clinic leadership.

Because they are limiting the number of people allowed in the building, service members, including those who think they may have been exposed to COVID-19, must call the appointment line first at 817-782-5900. If active duty service members believe they may have been exposed to COVID-19 or they are experiencing a fever with a dry cough, they are encouraged to call the clinic for screening. At this time, the clinic does not have the capabilities to test for COVID-19 so they are working closely with the NAS JRB Fort Worth Fire Department for transport of potential patients to local medical facilities that do have testing capabilities.

The clinic is practicing rigorous cleaning and screening within the facility to ensure they stay ahead of potential spreading among their regular patients. When being seen at the clinic, expect to go through a more lengthy process of questioning before entering so they can determine your potential risk exposure.

For after-hour concerns, Tricare beneficiaries including active duty service members, retirees and their families are encouraged to call 1-800-TRICARE for immediate assistance.

For any other questions, service members or dependants may contact the clinic's front desk at 817-782-5909.

Reserve service members must continue utilizing their civilian health care providers. In the case a reservist does test positive for COVID-19, they are still required to notify their chain of command for DoD tracking purposes.

Dental services remain available, but are currently limited to readiness exams and urgent care.

Pharmacy services are available in a new drive-through method. See image below for traffic flow and clinic entrance restrictions. Please note, pharmacy technicians are not allowed outside when there is lightning in the vacinity so foul weather can result in delays. Patients are highly encouraged to utilize the TRICARE Pharmacy Home Delivery service whenever possible. For long-term or chronic medications, TRICARE Pharmacy Home Delivery is an ideal option for convenience and social distancing.

SHOPPING CONSIDERATIONS

The Exchange and Commissary are still operating with slightly adjusted hours which can be viewed here. All patrons must wear face masks or coverings when shopping in these facilities. Also, due to high demand, the local Commissary has had to make some restrictions. In order to limit the number of people inside, there is a 100% ID check for anyone over 10 years old. Guests of beneficiaries (service members, retirees, dependants and veterans with registered VHIC card) will not be allowed to enter with patrons.

Also, in order to better serve military personnel, effective March 24 the commissary will be open for active military only from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. Tuesday through Friday. Regular store hours for all beneficiaries will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday through Friday and Sunday; and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays. The store remains closed on Mondays.

Due to high demand, certain items may be restricted to a one or two items per customer. Please be advised of all signs and notices throughout the store.

OFFICIAL TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS

Service members must stay up to date on travel and PCS requirements during the recommended social distancing phase of COVID-19. For PCS procedures, particularly in cases of moves OCONUS, service members must work closely with their chain of command in order to meet their orders to the best of their abilities while following all flight restrictions and delays. It's important to keep regular contact with both departing and gaining commands.

At this time, the Navy is opening up mission-essential travel again to specific locations and allowing service members to PCS or travel on orders as required. State requirements and individual hot zones will play a role in whether travel to and/or from specific location will be authorized. Due to location-based requirements it is important to be aware of the limitations of the area departing and arriving when travelling on orders.

For the up-to-date list of states and countries open for travel, visit the DoN Travel Tracker.
