Newcomers Orientation

All active-duty service members and their spouses are invited to attend the Newcomers Orientation and Tour which is offered the last Thursday and Friday each month. This two-day information-packed seminar is designed to familiarize you with the Naval Support Activity and our fine City. Numerous guest speakers will inform you about many of the resources available on the installation. You will be provided a free bus tour highlighting historical areas of the City of New Orleans. You can eat lunch on your own, followed by a stroll through the famous French Quarter. For reservations, call the Relocation Assistance Program (RAP) Office at 678-7569. Pre-registration is required for all of our classes. Please call at least three days prior to the date of the desired class.

Recommended Online Tools

The Standard Installation Topic Exchange Service (SITES) database for military installations and relocation information has been shutdown and replaced.

The transition from SITES to Military Installations (MI) Directory and Plan My Move (PMM) websites are now complete. MI and PMM will have only 23 topic areas. This is much less than the 100 plus topics included in the old SITES data file. The 23 topics were the most viewed in SITES. The new URL is much easier for the customer to navigate and our field staff to maintain the accuracy of data.

MI is similar to SITES, in that on the MI page, the command information is on the left side of the page and community contact info is on the left side. Community information listed will be telephone contacts and mapping information. MI/PMM is the New Trusted Source for relocation assistance and base info! Each installation will monitor these databases to ensure the most accurate information is consistently listed in MI/PMM.

Also, you can utilize the most current Electronic Welcome Aboard Package by calling your New Orleans Relocation Assistance Office at the FFSC at 504-678-7569.
