Captain Thomas Korsmo is a native from Las Cruces, N.M., and is the son of Commander Thomas B. Korsmo (USN, Ret.) and Joanne Korsmo.
He assumed command of NAS Kingsville on July 2, 2020.
Executive Officer, Naval Air Station Kingsville
CDR Joe O’Brien is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering and was commissioned an Ensign in 1999. He reported to the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, Calif., earning a Master of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering in 2000. Following NPS, he reported to NAS Whiting Field for primary flight training and continued flight training in VT-22 at NAS Kingsville, where he received his “Wings of Gold” and was designated a Naval Aviator in 2002.
He assumed the duties of Executive Officer of Naval Air Station Kingsville in September 2019.
Command Master Chief
Master Chief Bristow enlisted in the Navy in September 1990 and completed Recruit Training in San Diego, California. He attended Aviation Electrician’s Mate “A” school in Millington, Tennessee and Naval Aircrew Candidate School in Pensacola, Florida.
Command Master Chief Jacob Bristow assmed his position at NAS Kingsville in July 2018. He was previously assigned as Command Master Chief for Naval Support Activity South Potomac.
