HOMES.mil is a new official Department of Defense (DoD) website, dedicated to helping Service Members, families and DoD civilians find housing.
The Housing Service Center (HSC) is located in room 112 of Building 2740. Please check on latest changes for Household Good moves for local authorization. Please check this information when you are ready for your move as there are changes periodically.
Paulsen Falls has opened with 2, 3 and 4 bedroom homes for sale. These are in addition to other homes for sale, new and resale in the Kingsville area.
On-Base Government-Owned Housing
We have one designated senior officer quarters unit located on the base at Naval Air Station (NAS) Kingsville.
* As of FEB 15th 2002, all other housing is Public-Private Venture (PPV).
We at the HSC maintain the waiting lists for PPV. If you are interested, please contact us at (361) 516-6498. Our staff is available if you have general questions concerning PPV or specifics about Hunters Cove. Hunters Cove has two different sized three-bedroom units: three small and three large, along with four-bedroom units (see more details below).
The HSC personnel will continue to take an active role in overseeing and evaluating performance of the PPV site and management. The HSC will take part in advisory boards, performance evaluation reporting, mediation of any complaints and customer annual satisfaction surveys from tenants as well as monitoring utility consumption. Utility consumption will be monitored in order to maintain the zero out-of-pocket housing expenses (normal utility allowances) provided for Service Members.
"Hunters Cove" (PPV #2 for Kingsville):
Hunters Cove is currently the only PPV housing associated with NAS Kingsville. A groundbreaking ceremony for Hunters Cove took place on December 13, 2000, with the ribbon-cutting ceremony on October 26, 2001 in the city of Kingsville, Texas. The complex site is at 3400 S. Brahma Blvd., approximately 1.75 miles southwest of NAS Kingsville's main gate.
On November 28, 2000, the Department of the Navy and the Hunt Building Corporation of El Paso, Texas signed an agreement to enter into a limited partnership for the construction of 150 new housing units for Navy families. The Navy and Hunt Corporation partnership agreement is for 15 years with an option to extend the agreement up to 30 years.
Hunters Cove is a contemporary townhouse design with buildings located between Hwy 77 and Brahma Boulevard. These units have 3 and 4 bedrooms, and sizes range from 1,310 gross SF to 1,480 gross SF. Hunters Cover consists of 56 three-bedroom (1,310 SF), 56 three-bedroom (1,447 SF) and 28 four-bedroom (1,447 SF) units. Additionally, there are 8 three-bedroom (1,274 SF) and 2 four-bedroom (1,480 SF) units with handicapped accommodations. The community has an on-site leasing office, a community center, swimming pool, tot lots (accessible without crossing a street), basketball courts, volleyball court, and soccer and ball fields. By partnering with Hunt Corporation, Service Members can enjoy amenities like dishwashers, carpeting, extra closets, free mini-basic cable television service, updated floor plans and other features of contemporary quality housing at affordable prices.
The waiting list for Hunters Cove is maintained by the HSC. The day-to-day management, maintenance and operation of Hunters Cove are Capstone Management/Hunt Corporation's responsibility. Residents are encouraged to contact the manager when they encounter any maintenance problems or to answer any questions regarding the rules and regulations of the property. Maintenance work requests must be submitted in writing to the management.
**Since the PPV housing is not military housing, Service Members living in these units will draw basic allowance for housing (BAH) to pay the rent and utilities. Initial leases are for 6 or 12 months with month-to-month renewal thereafter. The Military Clause is honored with 30 days notice to vacate. Monthly rental amounts will be based on a Service Member's BAH minus an average utility allowance in order to maintain the zero out-of-pocket housing expenses provided for Service Members. Service Members are encouraged to pay rent via allotment or electronic funds transfer from their bank.
There is no Navy lodge or other transient accomodations.
There are 56 Unaccompanied Housing units.
Community housing is limited at this time. Most apartments have a waiting list. Some community rentals allow pets (some with large deposits); most do not. Please check with the HSC for additional information. Housing has updated properties that are for rent and for sale. All student aviators must have written approval prior to obtaining housing outside the Kingsville area.
