Chaplain's Religious Enrichment Development Operation (CREDO)
CREDO SE Mission: To provide a program of retreats enabling military members and their families throughout Navy Region Southeast to develop personal and spiritual resources in order to be more successful at meeting the unique challenges of miltary life.
History: CREDO began in 1971 as "Chaplain's Response to the Emerging Drug Order" to confront the use of drugs by Sailors and Marines. CREDO evolved into a retreat ministry that is applicable to a broad spectrum of people seeking personal and spiritual development. The name became the Chaplain's Religious Enrichment Development Operation.
Philosophy: Our program is distinctly spiritual and builds trust by facilitating an experience of unconditional acceptance resulting in a heightened sense of personal responsibility, and a deeper commitment to community. Individuals are encouraged to share only that with which they feel comfortable. They define their goals, and move at their pace. CREDO invites reflection, but does not attempt to "fix" people or "force" anyone to work on perceived issues. Instead, we affirm each person as a unique creation of God with value and significance.
Eligibility: CREDO retreats are open to all Active Duty military, reserves, retirees, DOD employees, and their families at no cost to themselves or their commands.

A Personal Growth Retreat is encouraged prior to the retreat if possible. If not, then sometime afterward.
Couples discover ways to:
- Better handle inevitable conflicts.
- Understand how they interact with their spouse.
- Build intimacy and communication.
- Become closer by strengthening the emotional, physical and spiritual aspects of their marriage.
- Take time to have fun with one other.
Who should attend? Couples seeking greater satisfaction, closeness, and genuineness in their marriage.
Personal Growth Retreats (PGR): begin on a Thursday at 5 p.m. and end on Sunday at 3 p.m. (72hrs).
PGRs increase participants’ knowledge of themselves and others. Participants clarify the changes they desire in their lives by interacting with others in a trusting and accepting environment. Opportunity to receive honest feedback promotes understanding of self and one's affect on others, thus providing exploration for ways toward positive change.
A PGR is a great way to "defrag" from the stresses of daily life and reflect on the things that are really important. Afterwards CREDO staff provide follow-up groups for continued growth opportunities.
Who should attend? Anyone wanting more out of their life, their job, or their faith.
