The RETIRED ACTIVITIES OFFICE (RA0) in Pensacola serves the needs of the NW Florida area retirees, their families and widows from all branches of the Armed Forces.
The RAO is the central point for all military retirees to get information on issues that affect them. The RAO is designed to research questions, provide reliable answers and refer personnel to appropriate service providers. It serves as a link to help the retirees and their families to obtain the rights, benefits, and privileges they are entitled to receive.
The RAO also provides survivor casualty assistance in the case of the death of a retiree or annuitant.
The Retired Activities Office (RAO) serves as the link between retirees, their family members, local military community, and other government and non-government agencies. Established by SECNAV directive, the RAO is staffed by military retiree volunteers trained to assist other retirees, their families and survivors.
RAO services include:
Casualty Reporting (Retiree Deaths)
Counseling on retirement pay, survivor benefits and entitlements
Assisting widows/widowers in completing applications for survivor benefits
Referral to applicable government/non-government agencies for assistance
Preparation and conduct of the Annual Retired Military Seminar
RAO Office hours are Monday through Friday from 0900-1300.
