Executive Officer 

Commander Corey Hurd reported to Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay in October 2019 as the Executive Officer. Prior to reporting to SUBASE, he was the Chief Staff Officer of Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam (JBPHH) in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

CDR Hurd enlisted in the Navy in September 1991 as a submarine Interior Communications Technician and later became a Strategic Navigation Electronics Technician. His enlisted operational tours include USS DALLAS (SSN 700), USS GATO (SSN 615), USS FLORIDA (SSBN 728), and USS MICHIGAN (SSBN 727).  In September 2000, he was commission as a Submarine Engineering/Repair (6230) Limited Duty Officer.

His commissioned sea duty tours include Supply Officer and Quality Assurance Officer on USS DOLPHIN (AGSS 555) and Main Propulsion Assistant on USS EMORY S. LAND (AS 39).  His shore tours include Supply Officer and Chief Engineer on OAK RIDGE (ARDM 1), OAK RIDGE Officer in Charge attached to SHIPPINGPORT (ARDM 4), Deputy Production Management Assistant and R-9 Production Officer at Naval Submarine Support Facility, New London, and Dry Deck Shelter Maintenance Officer at Naval Special Warfare Group THREE.  His command level tours include Executive Officer of ARCO (ARDM 5), Officer in Charge of Naval Special Warfare Group THREE Detachment Little Creek, Executive Officer of Naval Special Warfare Logistics and Support Unit THREE, and JBPHH. 

CDR Hurd’s awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (six awards), Air Force Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (five awards), Overseas Service Medal, and various other personal and unit awards.  His warfare qualifications include officer and enlisted Submarine Warfare and Surface Warfare Officer.  He completed an Associates Degree from Phoenix University.
