Youth Programs

School Age Youth and Teens

The Youth Center of Kings Bay offers a variety of leisure programs for youth and teen, kindergartners through 18 years of age. Among the various programs offered are:

  • School Age Care (SAC)
  • Day Camp
  • Teen Supreme

Active duty, DoD employees, reservists and contract employees at the base are eligible for this program. At the Youth Center, our aim is to build character through everyday leadership and guidance in behavior and attitude. Young people of all backgrounds join together in wholesome recreation and companionship. Trained staff provide positive adult mentors and role models.

Nationally recognized programs help young people succeed in school, stay healthy, learn important life skills, pursue interests in the arts and sports, and explore vocational choices. We have thirteen computers with DSL Internet access for the youth to use. Most importantly, our program shows youngsters that someone cares and wants them to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.

A few of the Boys & Girls Club of America (BGCA) National Programs offered are:

  • Power Hour (homework assistance)
  • Teen Supreme/Torch Club
  • Image Makers
  • SMART Moves

A few of the 4-H programs offered are:

  • Garden Earth Naturalist
  • Arts & Crafts
  • Photo Kids

Teen Program

Open to teens ages 13-18, still in school. Eligible participants include family members of active duty military and DoD, reservists, and contractors employed at Kings Bay.

The program hopes to empower young people to support and influence their community, sustain meaningful relationships, develop a positive self-image, and respect their own and others’ cultural identities.
