Deployment readiness is as much a priority for Commands as it is for service members and their families. Command leadership plays a key roll in the preparation process.
At the Fleet and Family Support Center, Gulfport, we stand ready to help. In fact, deployment readiness is one of our main focuses.
The following programs are provided in the hopes that the deployment cycle will be an easy transition for the service members, spouses and children.
Mobilization: The Fleet and Family Support Center assist the Navy Mobilization Processing Site in mobilization and demobilization of activated reservists and in the mobilization of Individual Augmentees. FFAS mails information packets to families of these members.
Pre-Deployment Fair: The battalion organizes this event. All service organizations are invited to set up informational booths where a wide variety of materials are made available.
During Deployment: The Fleet and Family Support Center staff is available to speak at Family Support Groups and Ombudsmen meetings to discuss unique concerns of military families, military children, support agencies and homecoming.
Return and Reunion: An on-board program for active-duty personnel that prepares service members to re-enter family and community. FFSC Staff conducts a variety of 45 – to 60 – minute workshops at the deployment site before Seabees transit home. Workshops include Car Buying, Money Management, Re-establishing Intimacy, Reunion, Returning to Children, New Parent, Single Parent, Troubled Relationships, Single Seabees and Single Seabee Money Management.
