SMART Web Move (SWM)

Need Expert Help

Let the Personal Property Office Guide you to a Smooth Move.  Once you receive your PCS orders, retirement orders, or separation orders, you can arrange to move your household goods, POV’s (overseas), and Personally Procured Moves.

If you are moving into the Gulfport, MS area, you can call the Gulfport office or call Keesler AFB at (228) 377-9314, DSN: 597-9314 to get the status of your incoming shipment, or arrange delivery of your household goods.

Because this office is very busy, walk-ins are discouraged and appointments are highly encouraged.

Relocation Assistance Program

The Fleet and Family Support Center's Relocation Assistance Program (RAP) makes moves easier. Your RAP will help you with all aspects of moving so that you can prepare for it, survive it and enjoy it.

Ok, enjoying it may be a stretch. But if you visit your RAP, you'll be able to plan for the move and be better prepared for whatever comes your way. Planning and preparation, as well as a sense of humor and positive attitude, have been proven by military spouses to be sure-fire stress reducers.

When you receive Permanent Change of Station (PCS) orders, you will have questions. Will there be housing on the installation? Will we want to live in it? What are the schools like? Do they have soccer? Will my spouse be able to get a job? Should we take both cars? How do we send the hermit crabs?

The Fleet and Family Support Center can answer these questions, and more. Plan on attending a Smooth Move Workshop hosted by the FFSC. The Smooth Move Workshop will address move-related topics such as who pays what for your move, how to ship your personal property, and what the sponsorship program is. There will also be a financial counselor available to you. Your FFSC will have welcome aboard packets that contain information about bases worldwide. They also have a Lending Locker, where you can borrow a portable crib or a toaster if you've already shipped yours. And your FFSC has tapes and videos so you can learn more about life overseas. Your FFSC Relocation Assistance Program has everything you need to make your move easier. All you have to do is use it!

With so many resources available, you may feel like you're being flooded by a fire hose. We're going to take it one step at a time and point out the resources that will help you along the way. The first thing you'll want to do is open up this Relocation Checklist. Along with this checklist, you'll want to check out SMART WebMove. This is a user-friendly program developed to help military members and their families plan and arrange household goods moves online, anytime. There's no need to leave home or work to arrange a basic station-to-station household goods move. Choose what shipment types you want (household goods, additional shipment, non-temporary storage, if authorized), and skip what you don't need. And if you're not sure about definitions, check out It's your Move.

Let's begin the moving process by preparing as best we can. The adventure awaits!
