Key Message: in order to improve the skills and knowledge of motorcyclists, it's mandatory for all Sailors who are motorcycle riders to attend motorcycle safety training courses. Courses are available at no cost.


NEW MOTORCYCLE TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

LEVEL I TRAINING

Initial class shall be provided to all Sailors within 30 days of their request for training.

Basic Rider Course (BRC) 2 day course.

Training Bikes are available – check the box when you sign up for the class or call the instructor for information. 

LEVEL II TRAINING

Initial class required within 60 days of BRC or upon changing type of motorcycle (i.e., cruiser to a sport bike – you must take the sport bike course).  All classes are currently one (1) day courses – the MSRC and ARC may change to two (2) – half days in summer months due to extreme heat on the grinder.  Students must provide their own bike for Level II training. 

Basic Rider Course Level II (BRC-2) – old ERC Experienced Riders Course

Military Sport Bike Riders Course (MSRC) – All sportbikes.

NEW COURSE – Advanced Riders Course (ARC) – All bike types

REFRESHER TRAINING

All military members who operate a motorcycle shall complete a Level II course as  refresher training every three (3) years.
