At NS Mayport the UH houses approximately 1,180 service members in six buildings:

  • Building 2234 and 2105 provides billeting for single ship to shore eligible unaccompanied personnel
  • Buildings 1586, 1587, 451 and 337 provides accommodations for personnel in tenant Squadrons and Shore Commands assigned to the station. Accommodations are one or two persons to a room based on pay grade and square footage.
  • Building 2105 MCPON Delbert D. Black Hall serves as the check-in point for all buildings and is manned 24 hours a day. Linen is provided at check-in.

All unaccompanied personnel reporting to NS Mayport, tenant commands and attached units must report to the Housing Service Center, building 289 or the Unaccompanied Housing (UH) Front Desk, building 2105. Our HSC personnel will determine and explain your eligibility and housing options. Most personnel, E1-E3 and E4 < 4, will be required to live in UH. More senior personnel may, under certain circumstances, be eligible to live in UH.

We have a number of rules and regulations designed to keep the UH community a safe and comfortable place for all residents. Residents are provided a Welcome Aboard Package upon check-in with many of the basic rules and regulations for Unaccompanied Housing. We try to keep the rules as reasonable and unobtrusive as possible and expect everyone to abide by them.

NS Mayport has a full complement of recreational, fitness, dining, religious, educational and other amenities. Most are located within walking distance of UH.

Resident Advisors (RA) are senior personnel who provide an after-hours leadership presence in UH. RAs sign a memorandum of understanding, agreeing to certain duties and responsibilities in exchange for a room in UH. The program is strictly voluntary and open to personnel in pay grades E5 to E9 (E4 with their Commanding Officer’s recommendation) including Geographic Bachelors. For more information about the RA program and to obtain an application, please contact the UH Administrative Office at [link to contact page].

Geographic Bachelors (GB) are personnel ordered to Mayport who, by choice or circumstance, have decided that their dependents will continue to live in another geographic area. GBs are receiving BAH at the with dependents rate. They are not normally authorized to live in UH, however, we do have a limited number of spaces available for GBs. GBs must submit an application that will be reviewed by the Assignment Review Board. If approved, the GB will be placed on the waiting list and offered UH when it becomes available. GBs may also apply to be RAs. For more information about the GB program and to obtain an application, please contact the UH Administrative Office at [link to contact page].
