Master Chief Strader was born in St. Louis, Missouri in 1971. She enlisted in the Navy in 1998 and attended Basic Training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois. Following Basic Training, she attended Electronic Warfare Operator “A” school and SLQ-32 (V)3 Technician “C” school at Navy Technical Training Center, Corry Station in Pensacola, Florida.
Master Chief Strader reported to her first sea duty assignment onboard USS Donald Cook (DDG 75) in Norfolk, Virginia where she completed two Persian Gulf deployments in support of Operations ENDURING FREEDOM, IRAQI FREEDOM, and DETERMINED RESPONSE. She then reported to SPAWAR Space Field Activity, Chantilly, Virginia as Operations Watch Supervisor and Training Officer and was selected for Chief Petty Officer in 2006.
She reported to Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, Illinois in 2007 as a Recruit Division Commander where she qualified Master Training Specialist and received the Distinguished Leadership Award during her tour. Returning to sea duty onboard USS San Jacinto (CG 56) in 2010 in Norfolk, Virginia, Master Chief Strader served as the Operations Department Leading Chief Petty Officer.
After completing her tour onboard USS San Jacinto in 2013, Master Chief Strader served as a Faculty Advisor at the Senior Enlisted Academy in Newport, Rhode Island. She was selected to the Command Master Chief Program in 2016 and served as CMC onboard USS Shoup (DDG 86) in Everett, Washington from May 2016 to September 2018.
Master Chief Strader is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 170/Gray), the Navy Leadership and Ethics Center Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat Course (Class 156), and the National Defense University Keystone Course (20-1). She holds an Associate of Art Degree in Computer Systems and Vocational Education from Coastline Community College and a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership from Southern New Hampshire University.
Master Chief Strader is qualified to wear the Enlisted Surface Warfare and Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist (ESWS) insignias. Her personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three awards), the Navy Good Conduct Medal (seven awards), and various unit, service, and campaign decorations.
Command Master Chief Strader has served as the Command Master Chief of Naval Support Activity Mid-South in Millington, Tennessee since October 2018.
