The mission of the Emergency Management Department is to develop, implement, and manage the Navy's premiere installation all-hazard emergency management program capable of preparing for, responding to, recovering from, and mitigating against both natural and man-made events to protect personnel, sustain critical missions, and restore essential missions within the NSA Mid-South area of responsibility.

Effective immediately, all emergency notification announcements onboard NSA Mid-South will be preceded by a high-low alert tone (European police siren). Upon hearing the alert tone, upon hearing the high-low siren, all personnel are to immediately seek additional information through one of the following methods:
* Announcement made on Giant Voice (external notification speakers)
* Email and/or popup on AtHoc Wide Area Alert Network
