Master Chief Isaiah Marauta is a native of Wakonda, SD. He enlisted in the Navy in August of 1995 as a Mess Management Specialist. He attended Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, IL, followed by MS “A” School in San Diego, CA.
In December 1995, he reported onboard USS NIMITZ (CVN 68), where he served as a Cook on Watch and Records Keeper and completed one successful deployment and a world cruise.
After completing Wardroom Private Mess “C” School, he reported to Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, where he served as baker and Records Keeper, while advancing to Second Class Petty Officer. Following a successful three-year tour, he reported onboard USS LA SALLE (AGF-3) to serve as Galley Watch Captain and was promoted to First Class Petty Officer.
Following the decommission ceremony of USS LA SALLE, he reported to USS CARTER HALL (LSD 50) in 2005 to serve as Galley Watch Captain, Records Keeper, Leading Petty Officer and Leading Culinary Specialist.
After a successful tour on the USS CARTER HALL, he reported to ECRC San Diego, for an IA tour in Afghanistan, where he was promoted to Chief Petty Officer in 2009. Following his return from Afghanistan, he reported for Instructor Duty to Culinary Specialist ‘A’ School, Great Lakes. While at the school house, he helped move the ‘A’ school across country to Fort Lee, VA. While there he was promoted to Senior Chief Petty Officer.
In 2013, he transferred and attended the Senior Enlisted Academy, class 173, before reporting to USS JAMES E. WILLIAMS (DDG 95) serving as Supply Department Leading Chief Petty Officer and Command Senior Chief. During his time onboard he was selected for the Command Senior Chief Program and was promoted to Master Chief Petty Officer.
In July 2016, he reported to Strike Fighter Squadron ONE NINE FIVE (VFA-195) Atsugi, Japan as the Command Master Chief. During his tour at the squadron, he helped in the Permanent Duty Station change from NAF Atsugi to MCAS Iwakuni. While at the same time help the command achieve the FY17 CNAP Battle Efficiency Award and various other unit awards.
He assumed duties as Command Master Chief for NAVAL AIR STATION FALLON in July of 2018.
His military decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Army Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (six awards), Army Achievement Medal and various other unit and campaign awards. He is qualified as an Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, Enlisted, Aviation Warfare Specialist, and Master Training Specialist.
