Captain Kenneth R. Frankiln
Captain Franklin is the Naval Base Point Loma Commanding Officer. He is a native of Plant City, Florida. Enlisting in the Navy in 1989, he was trained as an Electronics Technician and reported to USS MARYLAND (SSBN 738) in 1991. He was selected for the Enlisted Commissioning Program in 1993 as a Second Class Petty Officer and attended the Florida State University earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science in 1996.
Executive Officer
Commander Griffen was born and raised in California where he enlisted in the Navy in 1987. After Basic Training in Great Lakes, IL, he attended Submarine School and Submarine Advanced Electronics Technician (ET) Pipeline in Groton, CT. Upon completion of training he reported to USS Houston (SSN 713) in San Diego, CA. His next assignment was instructor duty at Submarine Training Facility San Diego. He completed a tour at Deep Submergence Unit San Diego followed by a tour on USS Chicago (SSN 721) where he advanced to Chief Petty Officer in 1997. He completed his final enlisted tour at Navy Recruiting District Colorado.
Command Master Chief
CMDCM(SW/AW) Britten is a native of Houston, TX. He enlisted in August, 1990 attending Recruit Training at RTC San Diego, CA. He reported to Sonar Technician “A” School at FLEASWTRACENPAC San Diego, Ca in February 1991. September 1991, he reported to his first ship the USS PRINCETON (CG-59) in Long Beach, CA. December 1994, he reported on board USS ELLIOTT (DDG-967). After two years on board he was approved to cross rate to Master-at-Arms.
