Religious Programs

Vision Statement:

The Religious Ministries Department, Naval Base San Diego (NBSD), seeks to provide opportunities for worship, prayer, education, and religious and spiritual development for personnel from a diverse range of faith backgrounds across a broad spectrum of personal experience.

From the Command Chaplain:

On behalf of the Religious Ministries Department, I extend to you our sincere welcome as you come aboard!  We are here to assist you and the members of your family in meeting your religious and spiritual needs.  Our Constitution safeguards the free exercise of religion for all, and we are dedicated to assuring that this freedom can be exercised by all people of faith.

Our staff of Chaplains, civilian clergy, and enlisted personnel is ready to support you in any way we can. Please come by one of the chapels or contact us by phone, email, or in person so that we can get to know you and respond to your religious, spiritual, or personal needs.

As we trust you are aware, Navy Chaplains hold “a sacred trust of maintaining absolute confidentiality.” This extends to all who seek our counsel, regardless of faith background.  We are here for you.

Again, a hearty welcome!  We invite you to browse the information provided here or contact us about the services and resources we offer.  You can reach us at either location listed below or email us at NBSD_Chaplain2@navy.mil.  We look forward to hearing from you!
