COVID-19 Information

Updated July 14, 2020
Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach and detachments remain operational, although most MWR services have been suspended.  There is no date set to re-open MWR services, and given the current spike in community cases it is unlikely that services will reopen in the near future.

Base Access

All individuals must have a valid military or military retiree ID card in order to access Navy installations.  Anyone attempting base access may be asked questions about thier health and health history before being allowed onboard.  Anyone with potential COVID-19 symptoms or history will be denied base access.

Face Coverings

All individuals (military and civilian)  are required to wear cloth face coverings when they cannot maintain six feet of physical (social) distancing. Face coverings should be conservative in appearance and not offensive.

When entering installations, individuals should be prepared to show a face covering in their possession and have one on their person at all times.  At this time, there are no restrictions to base access for those not wearing a face covering. All personnel should be prepared to lower face coverings as directed by security forces to verify identification.  Face coverings will be required when visiting the NEX store aboard NAVWPNSTA Seal Beach.

Directions for how to produce these masks can be found at: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting-sick/diy-cloth-face-coverings.html?fbclid=IwAR1EZlk77nzvthnXoOsqYu6Znd0ZH8f4rfTE-EnjEdxoe6JEucXYzXD_C6g.
