Eucalyptus Grove Landfill
IRP Site 27 is located in the central portion of the installation, approximately 1/2 mile south of the intersection of Ammunition Road and Missile Road. The site was used for refuse disposal from the late 1960s to 1974, at which time use was discontinued and the site was covered with a layer of soil. Small quantities of hazardous wastes were disposed of with the refuse, including used painting supplies, rags with solvent residue, spent silica sandblast grit containing paint chips, fluorescent lighting components, and asbestos. Metal banding and pallets potentially treated with PCP were also disposed of at this site. A Site Inspection (SI) was conducted, with submission of the final report in February 2009. A Remedial Investigation was completed in 2012, and an extended Remedial Investigation and Feasibility Study was completed in 2015. A Proposed Plan and Record of Decision are set to be signed in 2017.
