Port Operations is a service-oriented Program that directly contributes to the current and future readiness of the Fleet. Port Operation’s job is to help provide “Installations Ready to Support Taskings” and thereby enhance readiness of the Fleet through Berthing and Hotel Services, Port Logistics, Port Operations Center, Tug and Small Craft Services, Magnetic Silencing Facility, Oil Spill Response and Recovery.
Program Mission Statement:
Enable and sustain Fleet, Fighter and Family readiness through consistent, standardized, and reliable shore support. Direct the Port Operations ashore battlespace in support of Fleet operations. Our customers will recognize us as the experts in waterfront services shore installation management. We will be the best at efficiently delivering the right level of shore support services that meets our customers mission requirements, reduces risk and ensures our Operational Forces are ready to take the fight to the enemy. We will also acquire and sustain quality human capital and seek to continuously recapitalize port infrastructure.

Hotel and Berthing Services
Berthing Services provides liaison with Type Command representatives to provide scheduling of ships' berthing assignments within NRSW. Berthing Services Division generates long range berthing plans, drafts monthly and bi-weekly berthing plan messages and provides dockmaster services for ship arrivals and departures. The division also schedules and coordinates Public Works Center (PWC) support services, coordinates logistics support for Marine Corps and Navy load-outs as well as managing and scheduling pier repairs. Fleet Support coordinates logistics requests from all ship moves in NRSW. Ship visits from U.S. warships not homeported in San Diego and all foreign military ship visits are also coordinated by Fleet Support. The logistics coordination includes arranging hotel services (water, steam, sewage disposal), vehicles, cranes, telephones, stores load/unload and special requests to name just a few. Coordination is conducted through Port Control, Berthing Services, NAVFAC, FISC, and the Navy's Fuel Farm. Contact Fleet Support at 619-556-1484.
Magnetic Silencing Facility
The Magnetic Silencing Facility (MSF) consists of all activities in support of the operation and maintenance of the port magnetic treatment and calibration operation providing treatment and calibration for Fleet units. Contact Magnetic Silencing Facility at 619-553-7066 or 858-503-6801.
Oil Spill Response
Facility Response Team (FRT) manned by NB San Diego, NB Coronado, and NB Pt Loma 24 hours a day to respond to oil spills throughout San Diego Harbor and is responsible for the operation and maintenance of assigned craft utilized in the clean-up from the Ballast Point at NB Pt Loma to the southern end of Naval Base San Diego.
