ASAN, Guam (Nov. 13, 2018) – Joint Region Marianas announced today a 30-day public comment period concluding Dec. 13, for the draft 2018 Integrated Natural Resources Management Plan (INRMP) and environmental assessment.

“Protecting our natural resources on military-administered lands in Guam and leased-lands in the CNMI (Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands), is a priority for Joint Region Marianas,” said JRM Environmental Manager Dana Lujan. “In keeping with our environmental stewardship, we’re updating the current 2013 INRMP, which will ensure that the military continues to meet its vital mission in the region, while managing, protecting and enhancing the health of our natural resources and ecosystem.”

The new 2018 INRMP proposes to continue some existing projects from the 2013 document and introduces new projects appropriate for managing natural resources in evolving environmental conditions and challenges.

Those interested in learning about the Navy’s plans to protect and safeguard natural resources in Guam and the CNMI are encouraged to visit www.jrminrmp.com and download a copy of the document, or view a hard copy at the Nieves Flores Memorial Library in Hagåtña and the Dededo Library.
