Military to Conduct Training in Farallon de Medinilla, Dandan, Agat Bay, Open Ocean, Outer Apra Harbor

ASAN, Guam (Dec. 12, 2019) – The U.S. Air Force will conduct training at the island of Farallon de Medinilla during the following dates and times:

• Dec. 16 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

• Dec. 17 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

• Dec. 19 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Training will be conducted within a 12-nautical mile radius of Farallon de Medinilla. For the duration of the exercise the general public, fishermen, and marine tour operators are advised to remain clear of these areas and monitor the U.S. Coast Guard broadcast notice to mariners for advisories.

Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 25 (HSC-25) will conduct training at the Dandan training site in Inarajan from 11 a.m. to 11:55 p.m. Dec. 16-19.

These types of trainings are designed to enhance the readiness of military personnel. Residents in surrounding areas should not be alarmed if they see or hear increased activity associated with the training. The public should be advised that routine helicopter training often accompanied with the use of blanks can occur during these trainings.

HSC-25 will also conduct training at Agat Bay from 9:30-11:55 p.m. Dec. 16.

The public should be advised that training will be accompanied by the use of blanks and residents in surrounding areas should not be alarmed if they see or hear increased activity associated with the training.

The U.S. Navy will conduct open-ocean exercises from 3-9 p.m. Dec. 16 within a 5-nautical-mile radius of the following coordinates: 13˚26''N/145˚08''E and 13˚42''N/144˚36''E.

The U.S. Navy will also conduct training from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Dec. 18 in Outer Apra Harbor at coordinates: 13˚26’56''N/144˚39’56'E.

The public and marine operators are advised to remain alert of military personnel who will be swimming in the water as part of the training event.

surrounding areas should not be alarmed if they see or hear increased activity associated with the

training.

It is recommended the general public, fishermen, and marine tour operators monitor the U.S. Coast Guard broadcast notice to mariners for advisories.
