Military to Conduct Training in Agat Bay, Dandan-Malojloj, Radio Barrigada, South Finegayan, Warning Area 517, Open Ocean, Outer Apra Harbor

ASAN, Guam (Jan. 24, 2020) – The U.S. Navy will conduct training from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 27 in Agat Bay.

Residents and boat operators in surrounding areas should not be alarmed if they see or hear increased activity associated with the training.

The U.S. Navy will conduct training from 11 a.m. to 11:55 p.m. Jan. 27-30 in Dandan-Malojloj, Radio Barrigada, and South Finegayan, Dededo.

Residents in surrounding areas should not be alarmed if they see or hear increased activity associated with the training.

U.S. Navy, the Royal Australian Air Force, Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force, Royal New Zealand Air Force, and Republic of Korea Navy units are scheduled to participate in exercise Sea Dragon from 4:30 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. Jan. 27-30 in Warning Area 517 and open ocean bounded by the following coordinates: 15˚00’N/144˚20’E, 15˚00’N/144˚40’E, 14˚00’N/144˚40’E, 14˚00’N/144˚20’E.

All vessels are advised to remain alert of the above coordinates while training operations are taking place.

The U.S. Navy will conduct training from 3-6 p.m. Jan. 27-28 in Outer Apra Harbor.

The public and boat operators are requested to remain alert for training and should not be alarmed if they see or hear increased activity associated with the exercises.

The U.S. Navy will conduct training from 7-11:55 p.m. Jan. 27, 29-30 in Radio Barrigada.

The public should not be alarmed if they see or hear increased activity associated with the exercises. These training events will include the use of blanks.

The U.S. Navy will conduct training at coordinates: 13˚15’N/144˚15’E at the following dates and times:

·         Jan. 29 from 6 a.m. to midnight

·         Jan. 30 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

All vessels are advised to remain clear of the above coordinates while training operations are taking place.

The U.S. Navy will also conduct training from 6-9 p.m. Jan. 30 in Agat Bay and Outer Apra Harbor.

These training events are designed to enhance the readiness of military personnel. The public and mariners are requested to remain alert for the training and should not be alarmed if they see or hear increased activity associated with the exercise.

It is recommended the general public, fishermen, and marine tour operators also monitor the U.S. Coast Guard Broadcast Notice to Mariners for advisories.
