Military to Conduct Operations at Warning Area 13, Farallon de Medinilla, Open Ocean, Warning Area 517, Agat Bay & Apra Harbor

ASAN, Guam (March 20, 2020) – The U.S. Navy will conduct training at Warning Area 13 March 23-24 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Mariners are advised to remain clear 12 nautical miles from Warning Area 13 and the island of Farallon de Medinilla, and to monitor the U.S. Coast Guard broadcast Notice to Mariners for advisories.

The U.S. Coast Guard will hold open ocean training March 23 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mariners are advised to remain clear 3 nautical miles from the following coordinates: 13˚20.00''N/144˚27.30''W.

The Navy will conduct training at Warning Area 517 March 23 and March 25 from 11 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.

Mariners are requested to remain clear of the area during the stated dates and times and to monitor the U.S. Coast Guard broadcast Notice to Mariners for advisories.

The Navy will also hold open-ocean training March 23-24 from noon to 11:45 p.m. at the following coordinates: 13˚75''N/144˚333''E, 13˚75''N/144˚600''E, 13˚50''N/144˚600''E, 13˚50''N/144˚333''E.

Mariners are requested to remain clear of the area during the stated dates and times and to monitor the U.S. Coast Guard broadcast Notice to Mariners for advisories.

Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 25 will conduct flight operations in Apra Harbor March 21 from 3-4 p.m. HSC-25 will hold training in Agat Bay and outer Apra Harbor March 23-25 from 3-11:55 p.m.

It is recommended the general public, fishermen and marine tour operators monitor the Coast Guard broadcast Notice to Mariners for advisories.

The Navy will hold training in outer Apra Harbor March 24-26 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The general public, fishermen and marine tour operators are requested to remain clear of the area during the stated dates and times and to monitor the U.S. Coast Guard broadcast Notice to Mariners for advisories.

HSC-25 will conduct open ocean training March 25 from 6:30-11:55 p.m. and March 26 from 7-11:55 p.m. at the following coordinates: 13˚26''N/145˚08''E, 13˚42''N/144˚36''E.

Mariners are requested to remain clear 5 nautical miles from the area during the stated dates and times, and to monitor the U.S. Coast Guard broadcast Notice to Mariners for advisories.

The U.S. Marine Corps will hold training at Warning Area 517 March 29 from noon to 10 p.m.

Mariners are requested to remain clear 12 nautical miles from the area during the stated dates and times, and to monitor the U.S. Coast Guard broadcast Notice to Mariners for advisories.

These trainings support readiness and are critical to developing the skills needed to respond to operational missions throughout the region to ensure a stable, free, and open Indo-Pacific.
