Military to Conduct Training in Radio Barrigada, Dandan-Malojloj, South Finegayan, Agat Bay, Apra Harbor, Polaris Point, Open Ocean, Warning Area 517, Warning Area 11, Warning Area 13, Cocos Island, Farallon de Medinilla

ASAN, Guam (May 27, 2021) – Government contractors will continue to conduct scheduled surveys in Radio Barrigada until July 2 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Residents in surrounding areas should not be alarmed if they hear or see increased activity.

The U.S. Navy will conduct live fire exercises in open ocean May 31 to June 4 from 9 a.m. to 11:55 p.m. at the following coordinates: 13˚26''N/145˚08''E, 13˚42''N/144˚36''E. Marine vessels are advised to remain clear of the area for the duration of the event and to monitor the U.S. Coast Guard broadcast Notice to Mariners for advisories.

The U.S. Navy will conduct training in Dandan-Malojloj, Radio Barrigada, and South Finegayan May 31 to June 4 from 9 a.m. to 11:55 p.m. Blank ammunition will be utilized for training in Radio Barrigada. Residents in surrounding areas should not be alarmed if they hear or see increased activity due to the training event.

Military units will conduct training in Warning Area 517, Warning Area 11, and Warning Area 13 May 31 to June 4 from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mariners in surrounding areas should not be alarmed if they see or hear increased activity due to the training and are advised to monitor the U.S. Coast Guard broadcast Notice to Mariners for advisories.

The U.S. Navy will conduct training in open ocean and in the vicinity of Cocos Island June 1-3 from 8 a.m. to noon. Mariners in surrounding areas should not be alarmed if they see or hear increased activity due to the training and are advised to monitor the U.S. Coast Guard broadcast Notice to Mariners for advisories.

The U.S. Navy will conduct training in Apra Harbor June 1-3 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mariners and residents in surrounding areas should not be alarmed if they see or hear increased activity.

The U.S. Navy will conduct exercises in open ocean June 3-4 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the following coordinates: 13˚48.0"N/ 144˚41.7"E. The general public is advised to remain clear of the area for the duration of the exercise and to monitor the U.S. Coast Guard broadcast Notice to Mariners for advisories.

The U.S. Navy will conduct exercises in Apra Harbor and Polaris Point June 3-4 from 9 a.m. to 11:55 p.m. The general public should not be alarmed if they see or hear increased activity.

The U.S. Marine Corps will conduct exercises in Warning Area 13 and Farallon de Medinilla June 3-4 from noon to 4 p.m. and from 7-11 p.m. Mariners are advised to remain clear of the area for the duration of this exercise and to monitor the U.S. Coast Guard broadcast Notice to Mariners for advisories.

These trainings support readiness and are critical to developing the skills needed to respond to operational missions throughout the region to ensure a stable, free, and open Indo-Pacific.
