Welcome to Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling!

Nestled in Southeast, D.C., along the shores of the Potomac and Anacostia Rivers sits Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling. The 1,018-acre complex is the center of Air Force and Navy ceremonial support, among other missions performed by the nearly 50 military and federal agencies on the installation. Its service to the country, active-duty, reserve, retired and visiting military, as well as personnel deployed around the world, is an important one.

To our inbound Airmen:

"The Department of Defense issued “Stop Movement” guidance that halts almost all forms of non-mission essential official travel, including Permanent Change of Station (PCS) moves.  As we all are impacted in some way or another by the COVID-19 situation, I ask that you practice extreme flexibility as we determine if or how this changes your PCS to Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling.

I understand that this may affect you in some challenging ways – perhaps with childcare, selling or buying a home, dealing with landlords, or working out your travel plans. Now more than ever, it is imperative that you communicate these challenges through your current chain-of-command. My team and I stand ready to provide you the assistance you need if your current unit is unable to address your issues. Please message the JBAB Facebook page with your rank, name, and gaining unit so we can provide your information to the appropriate gaining-unit contact.

I understand this is a challenging time during this rapidly evolving situation, but we’ll work through this together. I look forward to you joining the JBAB family – please stay safe!"

-Colonel Mike Zuhlsdorf
