MEDIA ADVISORY: Air Station holds annual Earth Day Run/Walk in support of Sexual Assault Prevention and Response
NAVAL AIR STATION PATUXENT RIVER, Md. – Hundreds of participants are expected to join the air station’s annual Earth Day 5K Run/3K Walk in support of Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR) April 23, at the Beach House on base.
The day starts with displays from Naval Air Station Port Operations, Atlantic Test Range Green Team, and the Environmental Department with live wildlife animals, energy awareness information and more. Doors open at 8:30 a.m. and displays are available until noon. Three local elementary schools have also signed up to visit our Earth Day event.
For the run/walk, participants check in at 10 a.m. and the race kicks off at 11 a.m. with a SAPR proclamation highlighting Sexual Assault Awareness Month and sexual assault prevention read by the naval air station commanding officer, Capt. Heidi Fleming.
This event is open only to individuals with base access.
