CMDCS  Joshua Alexander Rajaballey

Command Senior Chief

CMDCS(SW) Joshua Alexander Rajaballey was born in Puerto Rico on 15 January 1983 and joined the U.S. Navy in June 2001.  After completing boot camp at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, Illinois, he attended Mineman “A” school in Ingleside, Texas and received his first assignment to USS CARDINAL (MHC-60) homeported in Manama, Bahrain in June 2002.  During his tour, he advanced to Third Class Petty Officer in November 2002.  While onboard CARDINAL, his unit was critical in mine-hunting operations in the Um-Kazar River, neutralizing nine mine-like contacts and providing oilrig perimeter defense in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM and ENDURING FREEDOM.  In September 2004, CMDCS Rajaballey transferred to USS PELICAN(MHC-53) in Ingleside, Texas where he was the Leading Petty Officer for Armory Division and Combat Information Center.  In December 2005, he earned his Enlisted Warfare Surface Specialist (ESWS) qualification and was promoted under the Command Advancement Program to Petty Officer Second Class.

In September 2006 he reported to USS GUARDIAN (MCM-5), forward deployed in Sasebo Japan, where he served as Combat Information Center Leading Petty Officer.  During his tour, he qualified Conning Officer, Combat Information Center Watch Officer, and participated in 11 bi-lateral exercises.  In December 2008, he advanced to First Class Petty Officer and selected as a Recruit Division Commander to lead, train and Sailorize the future of the Navy at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, IL.

He graduated Recruit Division Commander School in November 2009.  During his tour, he led, mentored and trained 10 Division, totaling 880 recruits and 30 Petty Officers.  In September 2011, he advanced to Chief Petty Officer.  Additionally, he served as Separations Department Chief of the Deck, where he was responsible for 4,100 separating recruits and 1,500 Sailors awaiting transfer to the Fleet.

CMDCS Rajaballey transferred from RTC in November 2012 and reported to USS PATRIOT (MCM-7), forward deployed in Sasebo, Japan where he served as Operations and Executive Departmental LCPO and Maintenance Material Management Coordinator (3MC).  In June 2014, he advanced to Senior Chief Petty Officer.

On February 2016, he transferred to Navy Munitions Command Pacific East Asia Division (NMCPACEAD) Unit Guam as the Quality Assurance Officer (QAO), where he was responsible for the safe movement and maintenance of 4.4 million pounds of ammunition and the qualification and certification of 45 Sailors. While at NMCPACEAD Unit Guam, he was selected into the Command Senior Enlisted Leader Program.

CMDCS Rajaballey holds a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership and is certified in Six Sigma Yellow Belt.  He is also an Honor Graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy, Class 201, Red Group.  His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3rd award), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3rd award), Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal (5th award), Recruit Service Ribbon and various unit and campaign service ribbons.

CMDCS Rajaballey is married to the former Maria Ramirez and has three children, Nia, Ariel, and Zariah.
