Unaccompanied Housing (UH) Overview
Unaccompanied housing (UH), formerly known as Bachelor Housing, houses approximately 246 Service Members in two buildings: Building 962 and 959. Our UH staff will determine and explain your eligibility and housing options. Most personnel, E1 through E3 and E4 < 4 will be required to live in UH. Most senior personnel may, under certain circumstances, be eligible to live in UH, but are expected to reside in the local community.
All our rooms are assigned in a clean, well maintained state and are fully furnished.
UH is conveniently located near the main gate of the base on 17410 Potomac Inn Road, walking distance to Grays landing (formerly the galley), chapel, gym, Liberty Center, bowling alley, and the Navy Exchange and Commissary. Building 962 serves as the check-in point for both buildings. Linens are provided at check-in.
As an added convenience to residents, there are lounges equipped with televisions and vending machines.
Resident Advisors (RA) are senior personnel who provide an after hours leadership presence for UH residents. For more information about the RA program and to obtain an application, please contact the UH Housing Service Center (HSC).
Geographical Bachelor (GB) housing is extremely limited. GBs must submit an application that will be reviewed by the Assignment Review Board. If approved, the GB will be placed on the waiting list and offered UH when it becomes available. GBs may also apply to be RAs. For more information about the GB program and to obtain an application, please contact the HSC.
