Crisis Response (Psychological First Aid)
Crisis Response clinical counselors are licensed and credentialed professionals who provide counseling, victim intervention and prevention education related to military quality of life issues. Services include:
· Clinical counseling for individuals and couples
· Family Advocacy Program addressing domestic violence, and child maltreatment and education
· Sexual Assault Prevention and Response prevention and education programs related to sexual assault
Career Support and Retention
Career Support and Retention programs include:
· Transition Assistance Program for service members and their families leaving the military
· Family Employment Readiness education programs to assist family members with their job search
· Personal Financial Management education programs promoting financial stability
· Relocation Assistance Program providing services to outbound and inbound personnel

The Command Retired Activities Office is staffed by retired military volunteers who provide services to retired military personnel and families to ensure they receive information regarding:

Veterans’ Affairs Intake Site
The Department of Veterans Affairs Intake Site is staffed twice monthly for:
· VA-related inquiries
· VA claims submissions
· General information on Veterans’ benefits
Fleet & Family Support Center staff assists military members and their families with deployment-related issues and responds to customer- and command-identified needs. Programs include:

Exceptional Family Member Program
The Exceptional Family Member Program is designed to assist Sailors by addressing the special needs of their exceptional family members during the assignment process. Special needs include any special medical, dental, mental health, developmental or educational requirement, wheelchair accessibility, adaptive equipment assistive technology devices and services. The Fleet and Family Support Program is the information and referral conduit for questions regarding exceptional family member resources in the local community.
Family Advocacy & Counseling
Family Advocacy & Counseling provides clinical assessment, treatment and advocacy services for military members and their families involved in incidents of child abuse or domestic abuse. FAP services include assessment of risk, safety planning, and interventions and/or treatment for victims, offenders and others affected by family.
Navy Wounded Warrior-Safe Harbor Program
Navy Wounded Warrior-Safe Harbor provides Sailors and Coast Guardsmen, as well as their families, nonmedical care while the service member is recovering from injury or serious illness. Regional nonmedical care providers tailor support to each enrolled service member’s recovery, rehabilitation and reintegration needs. The program allows service members and their families to focus on recovery without distractions.
The Navy defines a Wounded Warrior as a Sailor or Coast Guardsman that has an injury or serious illness requiring long-term care that may result in a Medical Evaluation Board/Physical Evaluation Board to determine fitness for duty. Support is not limited to combat injuries. Navy Wounded Warrior-Safe Harbor also assists those battling serious illnesses or who are injured in accidents.

· Legal and guardianship issues

Regional non-medical care providers work with a Wounded Warrior and his/her medical team to develop a comprehensive recovery plan, which is designed to address the individual’s specific recovery, rehabilitation and reintegration goals. In addition, Navy Wounded Warrior-Safe Harbor provides transition support and enrollment does not conclude when a service member is discharged from a medical treatment facility.
A Sailor and Coast Guardsman may self-refer to the program or be referred by a family member, command leadership or his/her medical team. For questions on enrollment eligibility, contact Navy Wounded Warrior-Safe Harbor.

Ombudsmen serve as a liaison between the command team and families within the command. The ombudsmen:
· Provide information and referral to assist families with concerns or issues.
· Regularly communicate and distribute information to and from the command and the unit’s family members.
· Keep the command informed regarding the overall health, morale and welfare of the families in the command.
Personal Financial Management Counseling
Financial education staff provide financial education, training and counseling that emphasizes long-term financial responsibility through instruction on sound money management, debt management, saving, investing and retirement planning.

Sexual Assault, Prevention and Response
The Sexual Assault Prevention and Response program’s primary goals are to prevent sexual assault from happening in our community and to support victims when an assault is reported. Services are confidential and available 24 hours, 7 days a week. The program is available to all active duty service members, military dependents older than 18, National Guard and Reservists while in an activated status and Department of Defense civilians.

Spouse Employment Services
Spouse Employment Services staff offers a variety of workshops for spouses to learn new skills and hone techniques. Topics include:

The Transition Assistance program helps better prepare service members transitioning out of the military into the civilian world. The program includes such topics as:

· Marketing Yourself
· Preparing for the Interview
· Dressing for Success
The program is open to military members separating and retiring.
Navy programs and services often need the help of volunteers to be successful. An example of this is assisting military patrons complete their taxes.
If you are interested in becoming a Volunteer Income Tax Assistant, please call to register for training. This training is necessary to complete the mandated IRS certification tests, which must be completed in order to serve as a Volunteer Income Tax Assistant.
Volunteers work directly on a one-to-one basis with active duty military members, military retirees and/or their family members to help them complete their taxes using the Navy provided TAXWISE software.
