The Fleet and Family Support Center provides financial education, training and counseling that emphasize long-term financial responsibility through instruction on sound money management, debt management, saving, investing and retirement planning.

Individual Financial Counseling
Are you juggling your bills? Are creditors calling for debt collection? Need help to repay your debts and still have money to live on? For your convenience, a Fleet & Family Support Center financial educator is available Monday through Friday to help with your basic financial needs. If you require further assistance with debt repayment, bill consolidation, creating a budget or credit repair, the Greater Washington Consumer Credit Counseling Service, a non-profit organization, provides assistance counselors at the Fleet and Family Support Centers at Naval Support Activity South Potomac. Call your Fleet and Family Support Center for an appointment to help you resolve your financial issues.

Programs for Your Command
Command Financial Specialist (CFS) Training Course
Offered quarterly, this basic training is for command members who counsel subordinates with financial problems. Topics include pay and allowances, consumer fraud, savings, credit, car buying, legal issues, counseling and communication skills, and rehabilitative finances. Presented in cooperation with Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society. Per OPNAVINST 1740.5, attendees must be a command designated CFS, be a First Class Petty Officer or above, have one year left at current command and have command approval to attend.

Military Saves Campaign
What is Military Saves? Military Saves is a social marketing campaign to persuade, motivate, and encourage military families to save money every month, and to convince leaders and organizations to be aggressive in promoting automatic savings. The campaign is a growing network of organizations and individuals committed to helping and supporting military members and their loved ones build personal savings arsenals to provide for their immediate and long term financial needs.
