RLSO NDW, located in suite 1600 of Bldg. 200, provides legal advice in three functional areas:
Military Justice (Courts-Martial)
Military justice advice includes matters that are prosecutorial in nature (i.e., related to the prosecution of a member of your command at court-martial). For matters involving a court-martial, contact (202) 685-5584.
Command Services provides advice to commands in the following subject areas: Administrative Law, Admiralty, Administrative Separations and Processing, Disciplinary Options, Freedom of Expression and Grievances, Homeland Security, Interactions with Civilian Law Enforcement Agencies, Subpoenas, JAGMAN Investigations, Military Justice, Operational Law, Personnel Matters, Standards of Conduct and Government Ethics.
RLSO NDW provides command services support primarily for Navy commands without their own assigned judge advocate or general counsel. Command clients can call (202) 685-7046 for legal advice.
Legal assistance can include advice on topics such as consumer/financial affairs, disaster relief support and advice, family law, foreclosure advice and counseling, immigration, notary services, powers of attorney, landlord/tenant matters, Servicemembers' Civil Relief Act, small claims court matters, victim assistance, and wills/estate planning. Pre-deployment services are given priority.
Defense Service Office North (DSO North)
DSO North, located in suite 1200 of Bldg. 200, offers legal representation to military service members for Administrative Separation Boards, Boards of Inquiry and Courts-Martial. Additionally, DSO North provides advice to service members on defense-related topics such as nonjudicial punishment.
