Commander Eyrich is a native of Tucson, Arizona. She enlisted in the Navy in January 1994 as a Cryptologic Technician. She later earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and a Master of Science in Environmental Science from the University of Arizona. She was commissioned through NROTC in December 2000 and was designated a naval aviator in May 2002.
In August 2002, CDR Eyrich reported to the EA-6B fleet replacement squadron, VAQ-129, in Whidbey Island, WA with a follow on assignment to the World Famous black Ravens of VAQ135. In 2005, as the Aircraft Maintenance Division Officer, she deployed with CVW-11 aboard USS NIMITZ and provided critical electronic attack support for combat operations in Iraq during Operation IRAQI FREEDOM.
CDR Eyrich returned to her alma mater as an Associate Professor of Naval Science at the NROTC Unit in 2006 and was selected to lateral transfer into the Civil Engineer Corps in 2009.
CDR Eyrich’s facilities and acquisition assignments included Facility Management Director, Naval Base San Diego, CA; Facilities Engineering and Acquisition Division Director at Naval Base San Diego and later at Naval Station Norfolk; and Construction Manager at Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti. Operational assignments include an expeditionary tour with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion FIVE as the Training Officer; serving as the Officer in Charge for the Balikatan 2015 detachment in Panay Island.
CDR Eyrich was the Executive Officer and Public Works Officer at Naval Support Facility Deveselu, Romania, home of the Navy’s first Aegis Ashore Missile Defense Site. In July 2018, CDR Eyrich returned to Hampton Roads and reported to Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story as the Public Works Officer.
In 2019, the Director of the White House Military Officer selected CDR Eyrich to be the 35th Commanding Officer of Naval Support Facility, Thurmont. She assumed the duties and responsibilities on 14 May, 2020.
CDR Eyrich is a Seabee Combat Warfare qualified Officer, a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Arizona, and a member of the Professional Acquisition Corps. Her personal awards include a Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal, multiple Navy and Marine Corps Commendation and Achievement medals, and various other unit and campaign medals.
